Our Story
Building Blocks Christian Academy is a Christian based program. Our philosophy is that parents should be confident and secure that their children are in a qualified, safe, educational program within a Godly environment. We believe that parents are children’s first educators, therefore teachers and parents need to come together to ensure that each child develops socially, emotionally and spiritually to become the people God created them to be.

Our Christ-Centered Mission
Building Blocks Christian Academy is committed to providing quality, faith-based services for children 6 weeks to 7 years. We plant seeds in each child through Biblical lessons in a creative way. This yields positive growth spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially.

Kathy Varner
Owner & Director
My name is Kathy Varner. I opened the center 21 years ago when I was in search of child care for my newborn. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find one I was comfortable with so here we are. I have worked with children my whole like. It is definitely my calling and my passion! My number 1 priority has been to been to be the best mom to my kids I could be, so know when you leave your children here they become my children!
Jennifer Thomas
Asheboro Director
My name is Jennifer Thomas. I am 36 years old and have 3 beautiful children of my own. I graduated with my associates degree in Early Childhood in 2012. I have been in childcare and at this center for 16 years. I have worked with every age group. Currently I am the director of the center and also work in the preschool classroom. I love this age because they love to learn and are coming into their own personality. I love teaching them new things and watching their minds work as they problem solve to figure things out on their own.
Rebecca McLendon
Lexington Director
My name is Rebecca McLendon. I am the director at the Lexington center. I have been in child care for 27 years. I have my degree in early child care.I love working with children and creating a safe Learning environment for all ages! I am a mother of 4 and a GiGi of 2.
